# Talking Pester on The PowerShell Podcast

I was a guest on the July 13th episode of [The PowerShell Podcast](https://powershell.org/podcast/2026-07-13-the-powershell-podcast-write-the-test-first-robert-pr-st-on-pester-psconf-and-learning-in-public/) with [Andrew Pla](https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrewplatech/).
The episode, **Write the Test First – Robert Prüst on Pester, PSConf, and Learning in Public**, is now available!

## Doing a podcast

Andrew reached out and made this happen. It was a great experience for me to talk just about everything PowerShell... he made me feel very at ease and while I thought it might feel scripted or formal, it ended up being a very natural conversation.

We had discussed a few topics such as Pester and PSConfEU before that might be interesting to touch on, but besides that it was mostly a free-flowing conversation about PowerShell, testing, and community involvement. Sorry again if I kept rambling on, but it was a lot of fun!

One of the things that came up is the VS Code extension I built for Azure DevOps pipelines — more on that in [its own post](/2026-07-21-vscode-azure-devops-pipelines-enhanced/).

If the Pester part makes you want to start, my [getting started with Pester](/2025-06-02-getting-started-with-pester/) post is the place to begin — and [Pester 6](/2026-07-14-pester-v6-released/) came out just the week before the episode.

Thanks again, Andrew, for having me!

Happy scripting 😊
