# On Air at Experts Live Radio

[Experts Live Netherlands](https://www.expertslive.nl/) has something most conferences don't: its own radio station.
[Experts Live Radio](https://www.expertslive.nl/app-radio/) broadcasts in the run-up to and during the event, live from the NBC Congrescentrum in Nieuwegein, with a mix of tech news, interviews and music for IT professionals. This year I got to be on it [(again)](/2025-04-12-experts-live-nl---who-couldve-guessed/).

[Ralph](https://www.ralpheckhard.com) [Eckhard](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ralpheckhard/) is one of the hosts on Experts Live Radio, but he's also a good friend and ex-colleague of mine.

While he has a passion for radio, I myself am not too comfortable with it, and especially hate the sound of my own voice on air.
Still, when he asked me if I could join him on the show again this year, I agreed.
Last year [Carina de Vries](https://www.linkedin.com/in/carinadevries) (another one of the radio hosts) convinced me to go on air, but this year it felt more 'natural' and more like a conversation rather than a performance.

## What we talked about

Of course the topic was something tech related, and because this year PSConfEU had changed its conference date, it coincided with Experts Live Netherlands.
This meant I had to choose one, and because I personally love the community aspect of PSConfEU more, I did the show remotely from Wiesbaden, where PSConfEU was taking place.

We discussed the community aspect of PSConfEU, the importance of networking and knowledge sharing in the tech community, and how events like Experts Live Netherlands and PSConfEU contribute to the growth of IT professionals.

## Do you have a recording?

While we had some technical difficulties tracking down the recording, I'm glad to say that we eventually found it and it's now available!

Hopefully next year's dates don't clash, so I can be on Experts Live Radio again — but this time on site!

Happy scripting 😊
